der in kiew (ukraine) geborene sasha renkas machte fast ein jahrzehnt lang musik unter dem namen antenna und veröffentlichte zahlreiche eps und ein album in voller länge. jetzt folgt er seinem drang, eine andere art von musik zu machen. das ergebnis ist ein album mit langsamer, intimer, nächtlicher musik, die von abstrakten pop-balladen bis hin zu ambient-filmmusik reicht.

auch wenn yves tumor die bühne wie ein heulender cyperpunk-geist betritt, der den zuschauer erschlägt, vereint seine musik kaleidoskopisches songwriting mit lobotomisierten soundexperimenten. diese dualität offenbart sich schleichend, aber einzelne spuren und bilder aus musik und text erzeugen den eindruck, dass durch erfahrung und zuhören am ende alles perfekt im fokus zusammenfliesst. so schreibt pitchfork zur vorabsingle noid: anstatt zwischen genrereferenzen umherzuirren, wirft tumor sie in irritierende und fesselnde kontraste zusammen. noid versenkt den allgemeinen, Überschwenglichen duktus von disco und soul in ein spukendes fass voller verzweiflung. es ist ein schöner neuer ansatz von pop-düsterheit, die nur tumor so heraufbeschwören kann

exit safe mode, a project by the visionary margus lo&#776,,,vve, establishing himself in estonian technoid music, has converged its sonic baggage into the newly released debut album immerse. the spheres created and recorded during 2008-2017 are travelling in ambient landscapes, while deserving to be called genuine contemporary music for its clarity of thought and musical focus. these eight themes are reminiscent of the dubstep-ish flows of lo&#776,,,vves earlier projects l-ow and 1derl& that are giving way to more idiosyncratic lines. the depth of sound manipulations allows one to discover tones of life in the synthetic analog worlds and provides a body-forsaking sideview to the interpretations of stringed instruments. the created sonorous state of immerse serves as an introduction to more rhythmic future affairs of exit safe mode

acid future: this is the first time a squelchy acid line has ever featured on a hydraulix release. a tough rumbling reverberated drumbeat, firing on all cylinders with a squelchy 303 sat on top. it’s even got a voice and some reversed bits of 303! what more could you ask for?

the estonian master of dubstep and techno margus löve, who has operated so far under the monikers l-ow and 1derl&, has changed his creative direction into curvier areas and is presenting his fresh act exit safe mode as a proof. cool and ghastly darkness is still hoofing at your heels and ominous concrete thunder brings the skeletal techno to a new fertile ground. seeming coldness is concealing a hot-blooded pulse and a stealthily transporting psychedely. a dangerously alluring adventure has begun and it s calling for an exit from the numbing comfort zone.

damien lynch is a gentleman youve met in a past life. emerging with this debut, he steps nicely into a home at the esp institute. on side a, we‘re invited to the heights, a transcendent state where the negative space between the notes is equally as important as his lush instrumentation. damiens build-up of warm analogue machines twinkle and stab, leading way to a memorable hook, a squelching chord melody full of live nuance and energy. on side b, safe house plays out a similar theme in terms of arrangement, however, the ethereal space damien creates with the kalimba and driving arpeggios elevates us to an even higher plane, where his lead floats gracefully across the stereo spectrum, blanketing the fast-paced rhythms with a calming sense of purity. were serious when we say that these two songs will guide you toward enlightenment.

some facts about duncan gray... he is a multi-instrumentalist tune smith... he has a label called tici taci... he was, along with our kid, one half of the criminally under-rated machine funk duo the sons of slough who produced an album of elastic electro (milk, milk, lemonade) and invented electro-bingo (two fat ladies... aux 88). he has recorded a cover version of robert calverts (ex-hawkwind) *lord of the hornets*... he has played space guitar on a number of my remixes (we like to call his sound pink wray). he has given me 4 tracks of low-slung sleazey loveliness to release on bird scarer...
